Last Thursday night saw the return of turbo training. The session was led by Nigel Carroll who brought his super high level of energy and enthusiasm to the evening. It was fantastic to see a good number of new members attend. The sessions will continue in the First Fruits Arts Centre in Watergrasshill on Thursday evenings, commencing at 7.30pm. The Saturday spin commenced in then village. The 78km route headed for Kilworth and on to Mountain Barracks. The descent to Mitchelstown followed where the peloton stopped for coffee. The return route took in Fermoy and MidletonRathcormac. The unseasonal good weather made for very enjoyable pedaling, and the large numbers out are a record for January.
Sunday also saw large numbers assemble in Little Island. The group was divided in two with Nigel leading the energetic bunch to Youghal. Birthday boy, Donal, led the second group to Castlemartyr. Club members were busy on Sunday afternoon making banners and bunting to welcome Bernard Burke home from his weeks holiday in Portugal. A the time of writing, there were a big group of club members at Cork Airport awaiting Bernard,s touchdown.. An open top bus was in situ at the edge if the village for the welcome home parade.
