Last Saturday saw us team up with the Lee Roadies for our annual cycle. A very large group departed Little Island train station and headed east for Midleton and Cloyne and on to the Village Green Grocers in Castlemartyr. All cyclists were fed and watered by the Walsh family without charge. The homemade sandwiches and mince pies went down a treat. A collection was made on the morning, and all proceeds will be donated to Marymount. The generosity of the Walsh family was appreciated by everyone. We all look forward to calling to the Village Green Grocer in 2019.
The Sunday cycle headed for Ballincurrig and Lisgoold and onto the coffee stop at Carrigtwohill. The caffeine helped to power the cyclists back to the village. Members have their fingers crossed that the weather will be good over the holiday period. There is nothing better to cure cabin fever than a cycle with friends. Finally, we wish all our members, sponsors, and friends a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Club cycles continue on Saturday and Sundays. Details will be posted on club Facebook page. The club is always delighted to welcome new members. On Sunday mornings at 9am, all levels of cyclists are catered for, with the group split into 3 levels. New members are very welcome to turn up and cycle provided they have a racing bike, a helmet, and are over 18.
