Over The Hill Cycling Club will run an all day spinathon on Saturday Dec 16th at Ross's Centra Watergrasshill from 08:00 to 22:00. All proceeds will go to local charity, Cork Penny Dinners who are based in Little Hanover Street. Cork Penny Dinners was founded during Famine times as a soup kitchen. Well over 1000 meals per week are served, compared to around 150 a week a few years ago. The aim is a simple one – to give everyone who calls a hot nourishing midday meal. In addition, the service users get sandwiches and fruit to take away as an evening meal. There’s an open door and a warm welcome.
All current and former members welcome to participate in the spinathon. The day promises to be fun filled and there may even be some celebrity cyclists. All support will be greatly appreciated on the day. The event kicks off at 8.00am and will continue through until 10.00pm. Please contact any club member for further details.
