The club was well represented in various events over the weekend. Jimmy Condon pinned on the number for the Munster Hill Climb Championships hosted by Southside Wheely Wheelers last Sunday. The event was based in Ballyorgan, with competitors tackling a fearsome climb, known as The Lacka. The climb is 1.2km long with an average gradient of 11 percent. Jimmy put in a powerful performance and took the gold medal for the A4 category. The club was represented at the KCross cyclocross race in Killarney by Brendan Coakley, Pat McHugh and Dermot Brosnan. The three lads had a great day with Dermot claiming a very impressive top 10 finish in the B race.
No doubt the lads will benefit from the race and look to improve their results at
the CrossBarrs race next weekend . This will be round 2 of the Munster League. St. Finbarrs CC are the host club and have a fantastic new venue in Novartis, Ringaskiddy. If ever there was a park designed for cyclocross, this is it. The course is fast and flowing with a mix of forestry, grassland, and off camber sections, and it even has a set if steps.
